Shepherds View & Shepherds Delight are our two self-catering shepherds huts here at Friends Farm, fully-equipped with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay.
Whether it’s that romantic countryside break, or a weekend birdwatching and walking in the Waveney Valley, our huts are available to rent throughout the year, with wood burning stoves and double glazing to make your stay warm and cosy.
Whilst sitting on the deck outside the hut, it’s often possible to see a variety of wildlife from deer, hares and barn owls, to buzzards, pheasants, partridges and more. And when you're not spotting the wildlife, you can relax on the deck and watch one of the amazing Norfolk sunsets.

Things to note…
-
Due to farm safety, we are unable to welcome children to stay. However, if you bring your own travel cot, infants under 2-years-old are welcome (but it will be quite cramped in the hut when the bed is pulled down).
-
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each hut. Please note that both huts are set within the same gated paddock, so you may be sharing the space with other guests’ dogs. When outside the paddock, dogs must be kept on a lead as we often have chickens, sheep and pigs wandering around the farm.
-
Our huts are both smoke-free.
-
The huts are set away from livestock, but please bear in mind that it is a working farm, so inevitably there is going to be day-to-day work carried out close by. We try our hardest to cause minimum disruption when guests are present. We ask that you don’t wander around the farm unaccompanied, but we are happy to show you around when time allows.
Location
The shepherd huts are set on our working smallholding in the beautiful Norfolk countryside in the village of Alburgh.
Set in a gated paddock, our two huts offer you stunning countryside views overlooking the surrounding fields with sheep, horses, pigs and chickens. See our Local Area page for places to visit nearby.

Your hosts
Friends Farm is run by husband and wife Keith and Val Player.
The incredible views across the Norfolk countryside make living on Friends Farm such a pleasure, so in 2018 we decided to share the scenery with others, setting up our first Shepherds Hut holiday retreat.
Friends Farm is a working smallholding, and we pride ourselves on the way we look after all of our animals, whether they are pigs, sheep, chickens, horses or the cats and dogs. Primarily a pig farm, our pigs have the opportunity to run outside, explore their surroundings and root around in the mud. We also have a small flock of sheep that act as lawn mowers to tidy up behind our horses, and our chickens are allowed to roam completely free range.
