FRIENDS FARM SHEPHERDS HUT HOLIDAYS

Friends Farm offers two luxury self-catering shepherds huts set on a working smallholding in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, available to rent all year round.

Shepherds View & Shepherds Delight are our two self-catering shepherds huts here at Friends Farm, fully-equipped with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Whether it’s that romantic countryside break, or a weekend birdwatching and walking in the Waveney Valley, our huts are available to rent throughout the year, with wood burning stoves and double glazing to make your stay warm and cosy.

Set in a gated paddock, our two huts offer you stunning countryside views overlooking the surrounding fields with sheep, horses, pigs and chickens. Whilst sitting on the deck outside the hut, it’s often possible to see a variety of wildlife from deer, hares and barn owls, to buzzards, pheasants, partridges and more. And when you're not spotting the wildlife, you can relax on the deck and watch one of the amazing Norfolk sunsets.

On arrival at your Shepherds Hut, you’ll find a welcome pack of home produced eggs, bacon and prize-winning sausages in the fridge ready for your first breakfast. And from Thursday to Saturday our on-site farm shop and café are open for you to stock-up with more local goods, and enjoy some tasty treats.

About the huts

CAREFULLY DESIGNED WITH OUR GUESTS IN MIND

Handmade by the owners, our luxury huts have been designed to combine function with comfort. You’ll find a fully fitted bespoke kitchen equipped with hob, microwave/combi oven, fridge and dishwasher. And to keep you warm there’s a log burner with logs included, and double glazing and insulation throughout.

The comfortable double bed easily folds up into the wall with all the bed linen in place to give plenty of daytime space, and you can just pull it down and fall into bed in the evening. When the bed is up, the gate leg table can be pulled up ready for breakfast. And the convenient en-suite bathroom includes mains toilet, basin and shower with plenty of hot water.

As a guest you have use of the entire shepherds huts, your own outdoor deck with bistro table and chairs, and shared use of the small, gated paddock where the huts are situated.

Other things to note…

Children: Due to farm safety, we are unable to welcome children to stay. However, if you bring your own travel cot, infants under 2-years-old are welcome (however it will be quite cramped in the hut when the bed is pulled down).

Dogs: Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each hut. Please note that both huts are set within the same gated paddock, so you may be sharing the space with other guests’ dogs. When outside the paddock, dogs must be kept on a lead as we often have chickens, sheep and pigs wandering around the farm.

Smoking: Our huts are both smoke-free.

The farm: The huts are set away from livestock, but please bear in mind that it is a working farm, so inevitably there is going to be day-to-day work carried out close by. We try our hardest to cause minimum disruption when guests are present. We ask that you don’t wander around the farm unaccompanied, but we are happy to show you around when time allows.
